Dubrovnik\r\nDubrovnik, the medieval city of Ragusa, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, was first established on the Srd Mountain (412 m.a.s.l.) in the 7th century AD. Today, it is one of the hot-spots of the international jet-set on the Dalmatian coast. Guests from all over the world appreciate the cosmopolitan flair, combined with authenticity and joie de vivre. Numerous excellent restaurants, cosy cafes and bars invite you to eat, drink and relax.\r\nFor night owls, there are various discos and clubs including an open-air disco and bar on the outskirts of Banje “Dubrovnik Summer” takes place in July and August, offering daily concerts, theatre, ballet performances, and folklore exhibitions. The city walls are of particular interest as they are accessible and enable the visitor to circumnavigate the old town. They are 2 km long, up to 6 m high and as much as 25 m thick in places; the view of the city and the surrounding area is unique.\r\nIn the “Dubrovnik summer” concerts, theatre, ballet and folklore performances take place on a daily basis from July till August. \r\n

Split\r\nSplit pulses with the life of a vibrant cultural and economic centre of central Dalmatia and yet it has retained its urban charm. It is well worth a visit; the old town was built within 30,000 m² of Diocletian’s Palace and was declared a world heritage site in 1979.Emperor Diocletian had the palace built in 305 AD as a retirement home; it included a square palace, 16 towers and four gates (Gold, Silver, Brass and Iron Gate), four temples and an open portico.\r\nThe peristyle (from which one entered into the private imperial apartments) later became the town square, and the magnificent mausoleum is now the impressive cathedral St. Duje, with its octagonal exterior and rounded interior. The Galerija Ivana Mestrovica is also worth visiting. It is the former residence of Ivan Mestrovic, one of the most important Croatian artists. Located in a park, some of the artist’s most exceptional work is exhibited in the neo-classical villa.\r\n”Split Summer” provides lovers of culture with concerts, theatre and ballet performans, with many of the performances taking place in the peristyle of the palace. For every mood and whim, there are cafes and bars, while restaurants invite you to dine on secluded terraces and enjoy traditional and international culinary delights. The dynamic Split nightlife is legendary, with nightclubs and lounge bars, in which you can party until the early hours.
